LOY EXCELLENTIA INITIATIVE

Founder of Loy Excellentia Initiative, Dr. Aloysius C. Anyichie, Receives the 2025 Top 25 Canadian Immigrants award

Brandon, Canada – August 22, 2025

The Loy Excellentia Initiative proudly celebrates its founder, Dr. Aloysius C. Anyichie, who has been named one of the Top 25 Canadian Immigrants for 2025. This prestigious award, celebrated in Toronto on August 13, recognizes immigrants who have made a significant impact in Canada through their contributions, leadership, and service.

Dr. Anyichie’s recognition is particularly historic. He is the first recipient from Brandon City, the first from Brandon University, the first clergy to be honored in the award’s 17-year history, and the only recipient from Nigeria and West Africa in 2025.

Reflecting on this milestone, Dr. Anyichie said:

“I feel deeply honored and humbled by this recognition. This award is not just about me; it is a recognition of every immigrant who dares to dream, work hard, and contribute meaningfully to their new home. It affirms that our stories, our struggles, and our successes matter — and that we can all be agents of hope and transformation wherever we find ourselves”.

A passionate scholar and mentor, Dr. Anyichie has dedicated his career to advancing culturally responsive pedagogy, self-regulated learning, motivation, and learning engagement, ensuring that students from diverse backgrounds have the tools to succeed.

As the founder of the Loy Excellentia Initiative, he has created a platform that provides free mentorship opportunities to students of African descent in Canada, helping them excel academically, navigate cultural transitions, and pursue professional success.

This award not only honors Dr. Anyichie’s personal journey but also affirms the mission of Loy Excellentia—to empower, mentor, and inspire African students to rise to their fullest potential.
